ITT Night Vision & Imaging provides image intensifier tubes and systems to many allied and friendly nations. ITT received the Omnibus VII night vision contract from the U.S. Army Contracting Agency of White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico. The indefinite delivery indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract has the potential to value an estimated $1.39 billion during the five-year contract period 2005-2009. Under this contract, ITT has received an initial award of more than $160 million for AN/PVS-14 Monocular Night Vision Devices and AN/PVS-7 night vision goggles, along with $40 million for production facilities and equipment. In September 2007, we received 100 percent of the OMNIBUS VII night vision order from the U.S. Army Research, Development and Engineering Command (RDECOM) Acquisition Center. Following a competitive process, ITT was selected as the sole provider of the Army’s ENVG contract in 2005. The contract has a total potential value of $560 million over the contract life, proving ITT clearly is the leading trusted supplier of night vision devices to the U.S. military, which sets the worldwide standard for night fighting.
Considered a critical U.S. military technology, Generation (Gen) 3 image intensifier technology may be exported only with the permission of the U.S. Department of State. An export license typically is granted to government agencies that have a legitimate end use for high-performance night vision equipment.
Over the past decade, ITT has significantly increased its presence in the worldwide night vision industry, winning the two largest-ever international night vision contracts: $26 Million (U.S.) from Switzerland and $80 Million (U.S.) from Australia. Since 2002 we have supplied the U.K. Ministry of Defence with over $30 Million (U.S.) worth of night vision equipment. We are contracted to deliver the Norwegian armed forces more than $30 Million (U.S.) worth of ITT Night Vision equipment within the next several years. By maintaining strong relationships with our customers and our industry partners, we offer leading night vision solutions.
These relationships also include our network of dealers and representatives that are positioned around the world in order to address more efficiently our customers' regional requirements.
Massachusetts-based Power Solutions, formerly K & M Electronics, acquired by ITT as a subsidiary in 1999, is a part of our Night Vision Division. Power Solutions has been a key supplier of power supplies to ITT for more than 20 years. Its expertise in the development and manufacture of miniaturized high-voltage power supplies, channel electron multipliers and other high-quality electronic components for military and commercial applications complements our night vision business.
Always in the forefront of new technologies, the Enhanced Night Vision Goggle (ENVG) is the latest in our lineup of night vision products. ENVG is the first night vision goggle to provide fusion (via optical overlay) of image intensified and infrared imagery. Following right behind ENVG is ENVG-D, with digital image fusion and image processing. EVNG-D will offer the ability to export fused imagery to the battlefield network and import and display information from the battlefield.
The Mini Binocular (F2525) is our smaller and lighter image intensified binocular, which will offer a lower profile, increased field of view and a versatile mounting interface.
ITT is currently engineering and creating initial prototypes of helmet-mounted systems that will combine image intensified (I2), short-wave infrared (SWIR) and long-wave infrared (LWIR) imagery for display to the user. SWIR technology operates at wavelengths between visible/near infrared and long-wave infrared.
We pride ourselves in providing innovative night vision solutions for all military and law enforcement operations, no matter what or where the critical mission may be. |
