RETURN POLICY
Product Return To U.S.A. For Warranty-Repair of State Department-Controlled Articles
Requirements
1. When returning warranty-repair articles to ITT Industries from outside the U.S.A.
- Customer must contact ITT Industries and obtain a Return Authorization Number (RA).
- Customer must notify ITT Industries by Phone (540) 563-0371, Fax (540) 362-5701 or by e-mail robin.wright@itt.com with the following information relating to items being returned.
- Name of originating Transporter/Freight Carrier
- Airway Waybill/Bill of Lading number
- Date of shipment
- Invoice number and value of shipment
- Quantity of items in shipment
- Number of containers in shipment
- Return Authorization (RA) number
- Serial number of systems/tubes, if applicable.
2. When filling out Airway Bill/Bill of Lading
Please contact an ITT representative for this information.
*Advised by ITT Industries when RA is issued When filling out Airway Bill - Continued
- State Return Authorization (RA) number
- State full (100%) invoice value of original shipment
- Include the following statement "Value shown is for Customs Purposes Only"
- Note: Insurance is not required on return shipments
- Include the following statement "This shipment is being imported into the United States in accordance with and under the authority of 22 CFR Part 123.4(a)(1)"
3. Documents required for U. S. Customs
- Packing List/Invoice, 3 copies
Must state "This shipment is being imported into the United States in accordance with and under the authority of 22 CFR Part 123.4(a)(1)"
- Must accurately describe the articles being returned
- State full (100%) invoice value of original shipment
- State quantity of goods, value of shipment in US Dollars.
4. Document packaging with shipment
- Packing List/Invoice
- One copy enclosed in container
- One copy attached to outside of container
- One copy attached to Airway Bill
5. Additional Notes
- Do not ship equipment to ITT Industries using courier services such as Federal Express, DHL, Airborne Express, or any overseas courier. Courier shipments will be rejected and therefore cannot clear U. S. Customs properly. Shipments must be returned to ITT Industries via any airline (e.g. United, KLM, British Air, etc).
- It is the Customer's responsibility to mark and consign each shipment to ITT Industries as indicated above. Failure of the Customer to adhere to all of the requirements contained in this document will place full liability on the Customer. Additionally, said failure will entitle ITT Industries to recover from the Customer, additional costs incurred by ITT Industries due to loss, damage, delay, U.S. Customs action or any other extraordinary expenses arising from such failure by the Customer or his Agents.
- To prevent possible theft or diversion of product, when returning for warranty-repair, always identify items as instructed via the Return Authorization Instructions as issued by the ITT Industries Night Vision Export Administration department. Do not identify the returned items as image intensifiers, night vision goggles, night vision binoculars or weapon sights.
- Only US-origin products are eligible for import under 22 CFR Part 123.4(a)(1) warranty-repair exemption.
