ITT NIGHT ENFORCER®: THE PREMIER PRODUCT FOR HOMELAND DEFENDERS
In 2006, the FBI and the Bureau of Justice Assistance reported that 53 percent of officers were accidentally killed while on the job. This statistic occurred between the hours of 6:00 pm to 6:00 am. To help officers gain the advantage over night threats, ITT offers the Night Enforcer PVS-14 for optimal enhanced night vision and officer safety.

Special operations teams, surveillance units, search and rescue squads and more benefit from using ITT's Night Enforcer. With Generation 3 technology, our homeland defenders can perform surveillance at a safe distance and surprise and apprehend a criminal in a dark building while safely remaining undetected. The Night Enforcer provides the ability to identify and see through glass and it also allows search and rescue operations to continue through the night when every minute counts. Bottom line, the Night Enforcer gives officers and federal agents the eyes they need to not only see at night, but to distinguish physical features of a suspect and identify weapons from a safe distance as well.

ITT's Night Enforcer is a versatile Generation 3 monocular night vision device. The monocular unit allows seamless continuous operation when transitioning from high-light to low-light environments. The unit can be hand-held, head-mounted, weapon-mounted, helmet-mounted, and mounted to cameras and camcorders. To find out how ITT's Night Enforcer can be utilized in your department, please visit our microsite Around the Clock.

NEW PROTOCOL FOR NIGHT VISION PRODUCT DEMONSTRATION
According to a published booklet by the Defense Security Services titled 2006 Technology Collection Trends in the U.S. Defense Industry, lasers and optics (night vision systems are included in this category) is the second most sought after defense technology in the world. Information systems is number one. To ensure the security of our technology and our nation, ITT continues to remain compliant with the Department of State's International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). ITT Night Vision personnel must verify U.S. person status before we can provide an individual with a demonstration of our product.

The following documents are acceptable forms of identification to verify U.S. person status:
  • U.S. issued passport

  • U.S. issued birth certificate with a photo ID

  • U.S. issued active non-dependent military ID

These documents will need to be presented to ITT Night Vision personnel prior to the demonstrations. Because ITT manufactures the most advanced Generation 3 technology available, it is our job to ensure its security. Our night-vision technology has given our homeland defenders and warfighters abroad the advantage at night to overcome the enemy in critical situations. We thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS)
The COPS Office distributes funding through a wide range of programs, both as grants and cooperative agreements. COPS funds law enforcement programs for hiring (TRGP, UHP), technology (MORE) and school safety (COPS in Schools) grants. Also available is funding for special projects that focus on implementing community policing strategies to solve specific crime, disorder, and quality of life issues, such as reducing methamphetamine use and production, increasing seat belt usage, and implementing the 311 non-emergency telephone system. Visit the link above to learn about programs from COPS' past: completed Special Projects, early programs that were absorbed into others, and pilot programs designed to develop documented solutions that can be easily replicated.

If these opportunities do not apply to your agency or if you would like to pursue additional opportunities to obtain night vision equipment,
Margaret Stark, ITT's certified grant specialist, can assist you through the grant process.
